Our Practice

We are a full-service animal hospital serving Rowlett and the surrounding areas. We provide compassionate and outstanding medicine for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets. Whether your pet needs vaccinations, grooming, bathing, surgery, dentistry or day-to-day preventative medicine, we are here to assist! In addition to regular veterinary care, Premier Vet Care offers a variety of services that ensure the best diagnostic capabilities and treatment for your pet including ultrasonography, digital radiography, elective and specialized surgeries, pain management, preventative in-house lab work and internal medicine consultations.

  • Dr. Josh Cope

    Medical Director + Veterinarian

    After graduating from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Josh moved down to Texas as fast as he could. Dr. Josh is a second-generation veterinarian. He grew up on a small farm in Ohio, where he spent most of his childhood traveling with his father treating all kinds of animals, and talking to local farmers. Dr. Josh and his wife Kristin have 2 children (Cameron and Kasdin) and 2 furbabies (Charlie and Jazmine). In his spare time, Dr. Josh likes golfing, hiking, and anything outdoors.
  • Dr. Kirsten Stukey

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Kirsten Stukey, Texas-born and Oklahoma raised, earned her veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University. Along with her passion for animals and medicine, Dr. Stukey chose this career because she loves being able to help people foster healthy, rewarding relationships with their pets. She understands how important our furry family members are to us, and hopes to be able to provide care and education throughout all of the stages of pet ownership. She loves all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special place in her heart for senior pets and end of life care.

  • Dr. Troy Barton

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Troy Barton earned his veterinary degree from WashingtonState University through a combined program with Utah State University. Growing up in a military family, he lived all across the country and overseas including California, Maryland, Mississippi, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Japan, and Argentina. He and his wife, Katie, spend most of their time chasing around their daughter, Ellie, who was born at the beginning of 2020. Dr. Troy loves hiking, camping, fishing, country music, golfing, and watching Alabama Football (RollTide!). Most of all, he has a passion for helping owners understand how to best care for their pet from preventive medicine all the way through the end of life care.

  • Dr. Kayla Stahl

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Kayla was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonda, California. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did her Clinical year at LSU- Geaux Tigers! – she lives in Rowlett with her island-mutt Ziggy Mon and her oriental short hair Sugar. In her free time, Dr. Kayla loves going to new restaurants and exploring Texas. At the clinic, Dr. Kayla loves being client-focused and helping them love and care for every pet as if they were her own.

  • Dr. Christina Gietema

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Christina Gietema grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she also played volleyball for the Lady Mocs. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Within weeks of graduating from vet school, she moved to Texas. Her favorite things in Texas are the State Fair, Canton First Monday Trade Days, and trying new restaurants. Most of her free time is spent at home with her pets and precious son Wyatt, who was born in April of 2020. Dr. Christina has two dogs, Annie and Little Tyke, and one cat, Millie. Dr. Christina’s aspiration is to help every pet stay as healthy as possible to keep them with their families as long as possible. She looks forward to meeting you and getting to know your furry friends!

  • Meghan Fernandez

    Practice Manager

    Meghan has been in the Veterinary field since 2013. She lives in Dallas with her husband and their two dogs, Morty and Lacey. She started her career as a veterinary technician before switching to her current management role. Meghan has been with Premier Vet Care since day one and has enjoyed every minute of it!
  • Diane Sorsby

    Receptionist

    Diane was born and raised outside of Chicago. She moved to Texas and met her husband Jimmy. They currently have five cats and one dog that are all rescues! Diane enjoys helping SPIN (a Great Pyrenees rescue organization). She also enjoys volunteering for the Salvation Army whenever possible. Diane loves working at the clinic and looks forward to doing whatever she can to be a part of Dr. Josh’s team!

  • Dee Korpik

    Receptionist

    Dee has been married for 20 years to her wonderful husband, Troy. Between them, they have 4 children and 2 furbabies – a Bulldog, Gorda, and a Frenchie, Bosley. Previously, Dee worked at a local dog boarding facility for 11 years, and has been with Premier Vet Care since opening day! Dee looks forward to serving you.

  • Linda Nordman

    Receptionist

    Linda was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived in St. Louis and Dallas most of her life. She loves Mexican food and her three cats- Thomas, Nicholas, and Minnie! Linda’s hobbies are cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. The best part of working at Premier Vet Care is being around cats and dogs all day!

  • Meredith Rogers

    Receptionist

    Born in Midland, Texas, Meredith is an Army Brat that was raised in Alabama, Kansas, and Texas. Her passion for animals started at a young age. She grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, iguanas, fish, a guinea pig, a rabbit, and even a duck! She graduated from The University of Kansas and worked in the HR Consulting field for 9 years before she realized that working at a veterinary clinic was where her heart was meant to be. Meredith lives in Rowlett with her boyfriend of over 10 years and her 4 dogs (PJ, Mookie, Rocco, and Winston). In her free time, Meredith enjoys off-roading in her Jeep, hanging with her dogs, and volunteering with animal rescues (if she could rescue them all, she would!!). Meredith looks forward to meeting and falling in love with your fur-babies!

  • Linda “Gigi” Collins

    Receptionist

    Linda is a native of DFW. She retired from teaching Early Childhood in public schools after 21 years and is tremendously blessed with an amazing family! Linda and her husband Rick have been married for 40 years. Her children are Kit and his wife Rebecca, and Kristen and her husband Josh. Linda says God has given her three priceless gifts in her grandchildren- Cameron, Grace and Kasdin. Her favorite thing to do is to be with her family and she loves sunshine and water. Linda enjoys working at Premier Vet Care because of all the great people she gets to work with and because she gets to help our clients and patients every day!

    Lead Veterinary Technician

    Shelby is Texas born and raised. She shares a home with her husband Trevor, their son Gauge their daughter Addilynn, their fur-babies Chloe and Rhett and 12 chickens. She loves traveling with her family and going on spontaneous adventures. Shelby can’t wait to meet you and your fur-babies!

  • Julianna Baco

    Veterinary Technician

    Juli has been a part of the Premier team since 2015. Her favorite part of being a vet tech is when she is able to make a nervous cat or dog more confident and happy. She has 3 rescues, one senior hound named Mable, and two cats Boo and Giles. She is also the proud owner of her own professional pet sitting and dog walking business. She looks forward to meeting your babies soon!

    Lilly majored in Biology at the University of North Texas. She has been a veterinary technician at Premier Vet Care since 2015 and is currently studying Veterinary Medicine at St. George University in Grenada. In four short years Lilly will be returning to Premier Vet Care full time to work as a DVM!

    Yanely has been with Premier Vet Care since 2016. She started as a receptionist before working her way to Veterinary Technician. Yanely and her husband have four dogs- Denver, Lucas, Luna and Tucker, and one cat named Grey. Yanely’s second passion outside of animals is weddings and spends her time outside of the clinic as an event/wedding day-of coordinator.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Steffani attends the University of Texas-Arlington and is majoring in Chemistry. She shares her home with her three dogs Tyson, Louis and Benji. She spends her free time painting and has a side-business baking. At the clinic, Steffani can be found giving extra TLC to our senior patients, and to hospitalized pets.

    Josefina has been grooming for four years. She lives in Dallas with her husband and her daughter Aliya. She has two dogs- Odin and Jupiter, and one cat- Kitty Galore.In her free time, she loves spending time with her daughter at the park and going kayaking. Josefina aspires to learn Asian Fusion Grooming Style- and can’t wait to give your furry family member a spa day!

    Amanda has been grooming for over 16 years and is very passionate about animals. She is proficient in all breed grooming, hand scissored cuts, difficult dogs, and cat grooming. She has 2 sons, 4 dogs and 3 cats! Outside of work, Amanda and her family enjoy outdoor activities such as swimming, biking, and hiking.

    Isaiah graduated from Sachse High School. He started at Premier Vet Care as an intern while he completed his Vet Assistant Certification program. He has since officially joined our team and aspires to work his way up to Veterinary Technician!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Jaz is from Dallas, but was raised in Mobile, Alabama. Jaz just graduated from Prairie View A&M University, she is hoping to get into Veterinary School next year and eventually become a Small Animal Veterinarian. Jaz has a maltese-mix named Izzy. In her free time, Jaz is a makeup artist and loves how artistic and expressive makeup can be. She can’t wait to meet your furry-family!

    Veterinary Assistant

    Nidia lives in Dallas and dreams of one day owning her very own a Doberman Pinscher. She currently attends Cedar Valley College and is pursuing her Veterinary Technician License but hopes to one day become a veterinarian. She loves caring for our sick patients and helping them recover. At the clinic, you can find Nidia snuggling rescue kittens and puppies.

    Gabbie graduated from Forney High School and has been with Premier Vet Care since 2018. She has five dogs- Chevy, Cooper, Chip, Hunter, and Hazel and they are her entire world! Gabbie has always had a passion for animals and hopes to have her own Rescue Group one day. In her free time, Gabbie loves road-tripping to Colorado, hiking and kayaking with her dogs. Gabbie absolutely loves working at Premier Vet Care and cannot wait to see where the future takes her!

  • Sarah Granado

    Veterinary Assistant

    Sarah graduated from Sachse High School and is currently attending East Field College. She is majoring in Nursing and wants to become a forensic nurse one day.
    She owns three dogs- Paisely, Sandy and Percy. She also has a Saddlebred gelding named Lucky. In her spare time she loves spending time at the barn with her horse. She has a passion for working with our exotic patients!

  • Alicia Moreno

    Veterinary Assistant

    Alicia graduated from Rowlett High School and is currently attending Texas A&M Commerce. She is majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine, leading to her dream goal to become a Veterinarian. Alicia owns three dogs, a yorkie (Ava) a super-mutt (Levi), a beagle (Apollo), and a few cats. Outside of work and school Alicia enjoys helping others by volunteering in numerous activities, exercising, and being around nature.

    Hannah recently finished her first year in the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine Program and hopes to become a small animal veterinarian in the near future. Hannah has two dogs at home and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, and volunteering at Throwaway Ponies.

    Veterinary Technician

    Andrae was born and raised in Jamaica. He joined Premier Vet Care in 2019 and has a passion for helping with surgery. Andrae has three children and two bulldogs- Kingston and Marley. Andrae is also the drummer for a popular Reggae band- Lion Heights. In his free time, Andrae loves playing gigs with his band, making terrariums/aquascapes, and spending time with his family.

    Crystal was born and raised in Texas and has been a veterinary technician since 2017. She has a passion for rescuing animals. At the clinic, Crystal enjoys surgery and helping treat our exotic patients. She also loves the outdoors, exploring new places and hopes to travel the world. She can’t wait to meet you and your furry family!

  • Jazzmine Cadriel

    Veterinary Technician

    Jazzmine joined Premier Vet Care in 2019. She is currently studying Psychology at the University of Texas-Dallas and hopes to become a clinical psychologist. Jazzmine has a soft spot for our feline-patients and wants to rescue disabled kitties. She shares a home with her husband Brandon and her cat Libby.
